A man with autism gives some good safety advice for the 4th of July. Families living with autism find Independence Day a challenge: crowds, sensory issues, medication and sleep routines all conspire against barbecues, fireworks displays and even downtown parades.
Hello my name is Daniel and I’m going to be writing about fireworks safety. Never buy fireworks intended for professional displays because they carry a propellent that will ignite in certain conditions and are not for private use. Certain conditions will cancel displays like a risk of dry brush that might ignite due to fireworks or thunderstorms might also cancel fireworks displays. Supervise young children around fireworks or they could get hurt by the explosions. Certain types of fireworks are illegal under state law so only buy appropriate fireworks and use as directed on the package.
